Sweet Jordan's Laundry Co. Receives Donation Of 216 Bottles Of Detergent

By Shannon McFarlin News Director
Paris, Tenn.— Sweet Jordan’s was an extra bubbly place Monday with the delivery of 216 bottles of detergent for the new Sweet Jordan’s Laundry Co. which will be opening soon.
Earlier in September, the Kingdom Kids Learning Center of the Westside Baptist Church in Murray announced its fall mission project would be to collect Tide and Gain laundry detergent to help the Sweet Jordan’s Laundry Co. get started.
The result was 216 bottles of detergent that was delivered Monday and Sweet Jordan’s Co-Owner Tommie St. John said, “They brought it to us in a vehicle and it wasn’t really that big of a vehicle and the detergent was stacked to the ceiling.”
St. John said the donation from the Kingdom Kids Learning Center “is a real blessing for us. One of the lessons they’re teaching the kids in their pre-school is how important it is to give back and this really is a big help to us.”
Sweet Jordan’s Ice Cream Shoppe and Coffee Co. are branching out and will be operating the laundry service which also will provide jobs for special needs employees. Sweet Jordan’s is the only place for miles around that employs staff with special needs.
Sweet Jordan’s already employs 30 people with special needs and with the laundry service expects to be able to employ between 12 and 15 more people.
As we previously reported, the laundry service business will be opening just a short walk in the same shopping mall where Sweet Jordan’s is located at 849 Volunteer Dr. in Paris.
