Paris, Tenn.–A residence in Paris was heavily damaged by fire Saturday morning.
Paris Firefighters were called to 207 Blakemore St. at 8:47 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire already engulfing the attic area.
Captain Chris Mustain told WENK/WTPR the fire started in the rear in a utility area of the home and moved into the attic and ceiling. Additionally, smoke and water damage was evident throughout the one-story home.
Residents of the home were not home when the fire started. The property is owned by Adam Parke. The estimated $60,000 home sustained some $40,000 damage.
Mustain said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters were at the scene until 10:20 a.m.
