19-Year-Old, 11-Year-Old Charged In Dyersburg High School Threat

Dyersburg, Tenn.–Dyersburg Police Detectives have charged an Alabama man with filing a false police report, in connection with Wednesday’s threat that was called into the Dyersburg Police Department.
Arthur Jackson Jr., age 19, was arrested today by the Tuskegee, Alabama, Police Department. Dyersburg Police Detectives developed Jackson as a person of interest within hours following the threat. Jackson will remain in custody pending an extradition hearing in Alabama. Filing a false police report is a Class C Felony.

Dyersburg Detectives also charged an 11 year old female Dyersburg juvenile in connection with the threat. The youth was arrested by Dyersburg detectives this afternoon, and she is charged with filing a false police report. The juvenile will appear in Dyer County Juvenile Court, on October 16, 8:30 a.m.
Dyersburg Police Chief Steve Isbell declined to discuss a motive, or connection between the juvenile and Jackson. “The entire Criminal Investigation Division worked on this case for many hours yesterday and last night, and I am very proud of their efforts,” said Chief Isbell.
“Yesterday’s event at Dyersburg High School was difficult, and challenging to all involved. It is unfortunate that students, faculty, and parents had to experience this event. The end result however is the combination of great teamwork by all involved.”
“I would like to express my appreciation to the Tuskegee, Alabama, Police Department, for their prompt assistance and resources dedicated to assist in this investigation.”
