Sharon, Tenn.–A Dresden woman died Monday of injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle accident in Sharon on Sunday.
Susan Bell Ray, age 61, died at Regional One Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, Ray was driving southbound on Hwy. 45E around 12:30 p.m. Sunday and while attempting to turn left onto Old Highway 45, pulled into the path of a 2011 Nissan Frontier driven by George Thornton, age 42, of Martin.
After being extricated from her vehicle, Ray was airlifted by Air Evac to Regional One Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis where she died Monday.According to the THP report, Miss Ray was not wearing a seatbelt.
Assisting at the scene was the the Sharon Police Department, Weakley County Sheriff’s Office, Weakley County EMS and the Sharon Fire Department.
