Paris, Tenn.–This will be a big weekend for Henry County High School, with plenty of activities planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the school. On Friday night, the school’s anniversary activities will be combined with the annual Homecoming event, with tailgating for the classes which have graduated from the school before the game. Alumni are invited to participate in the performances by The Madrigals and the Henry County Marching Patriots.
On Sunday, the Linda Wilson Miller Theater will be dedicated, a time capsule will be buried, a display of HCHS artifacts will be on hand and an open house and tour of the school will be held.
Here is the schedule:
Friday, September 27th: TAILGATING & FOOTBALL
**Alumni are encouraged to tailgate before the game. Reservations for a tailgate spot can be made by calling the HCHS office at 642-5232. Please remember that alcohol is not allowed on school premises. Feel free to bring your cornhole boards, class banners, and have fun before the game!
**The following alumni groups have reserved spots for tailgating: 1970, 1973, 1975, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1989, 1993, 2009, 2015.
**Homecoming festivities including announcing this year’s Homecoming Court will begin around 6:30 pm in Patriot Stadium.
**Our football game against Kenwood High School will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets for the game are $6 each. Each decade of graduates (70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s) will be recognized during the game…make sure you are here to cheer with yours!
**HCHS Madrigal Alumni are invited to sing the National Anthem prior to the game with the current HCHS Madrigals. Contact HCHS Choral Director Deanna Cook at cookd@henryk12.net for more information.

**Beginning during the 2016 football season, HCHS football players, band members, students, and alumni began joining together at the end of the game to sing the HCHS Alma Mater. After the Homecoming game, we’d love to have you meet us at band end of the field as we sing the Alma Mater to end the night!
Sunday, September 29th: OPEN HOUSE (2 -4 pm)
**Come tour YOUR school and see the remodel and construction in progress!
**Tours will be given by current HCHS Student Ambassadors between scheduled events.
**2:00 pm–The Linda Wilson Miller Theater will be dedicated…Several former students of Mrs. Miller’s will be on hand to give remarks during the dedication. Mrs. Wilson Miller has taught at HCHS since its opening in the fall of 1969. Though now retired from the classroom, Mrs. Wilson Miller continues to coach students to national levels as part of the HCHS Speech Team.
**Approximately 3:30 pm–Time Capsule buried; If you have ideas it items to include in the Time Capsule that will be buried at the Open House on Sunday, September 29th, please feel free to send them our way! If your class would like to put something in the Time Capsule, be thinking of ideas!
**Pieces of the original Gamlin Gym floor will be available (until gone) for purchase; Yearbooks of available years will be available (until gone) for purchase.
