Clarksville, Tenn.–The Patriots 3-2 (2-0) traveled to one of their oldest rivals and Region foe Clarksville High Friday night and won the game by a final score of 35-13
After a slow start the Big Red began to roll by scoring on 14 yard Joseph Travis touchdown run with 9:35 left in the 2nd quarter. Then with 0:37 left in the half, Henry County’s Ryan Damron scored on a quarterback keeper from two yards out to make it 14-0 at the half.
Clarksville got their first points of the night on a 37 yard touchdown pass in the 3rd quarter but the Patriots answered with 0:33 to go in the 3rd on a Jermarcus Johnson 6 yard touchdown run. Henry County would score two more time in the 4th quarter on a Jayden Kendall 2 yard touchdown run and later on a fumble recovered in the end zone by Colton Wiser to go up 35-7. Clarksville would score with no time left on the clock to round out the victory for Henry County 35-13.
Henry County is back home Friday September 27th as they welcome Kenwood for a Region Contest. Next weekend is also homecoming and the 50th celebration of Henry County High School with tailgates, galas, and other events planned Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
