Henry, Tenn.–Henry Volunteer Firefighters extinguished woods that caught on fire from a burning trash pile Thursday afternoon.
The fire department was dispatched to 1790 Macedonia Rd. on a report of woods on fire and found a gully burning near three structures.
Firefighter Dustin Odom said their team set up an engine between the fire and the structures while the Forestry Service and Henry firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
Odom said firefighters were on the scene for just over 1.5 hours. “We estimate a total of five acres were burned,” he said.
The Henry Fire Department sent out three vehicles and six firefighters. They were assisted by the Forestry Service, Henry Co. Sheriff’s Office and Henry Co. EMS.
