Union City, Tenn.–A Union City man was killed in a two-vehicle accident which occurred Tuesday afternoon on West Reelfoot Avenue.
Malcolm Xavier Beckett, age 29, was pronounced dead on arrival at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, where he was taken by EMS after the accident.
According to Union City Police, Beckett was driving a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on W. Reelfoot when he collided with a 2012 Dodge pickup truck as it exited the parking lot of Tractor Supply. The pickup was operated by Jerry Lee Mast, age 41, of Rte. 21, Fancy Farm, Ky. Mast was uninjured.
The accident is still under investigation, with assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Funeral arrangements at Rawls Funeral Home in Union for Beckett are incomplete.
