Jordan St. John Receives Stewardship Award From Lipscomb College Of Business

By Shannon McFarlin News Director
Nashville, Tenn.–Jordan St. John of Paris was the recipient of the first-ever Business As Mission Stewardship Award given Tuesday at the Lipscomb University College of Business.
St. John was born with Down Syndrome and is the inspiration for Sweet Jordan’s Ice Cream Shoppe in Paris, the only spot for miles around that employs staff with special needs.
He was accompanied to the presentation by his parents Brad and Tommie St. John.
Rob Touchstone is Director of Business As Mission at Lipscomb and became aware of Sweet Jordan’s through his father-in-law, Bill Looney of Paris. Touchstone co-founded The Well Coffeehouse in 2012 as a social enterprise that turns profits into hope for those in need.
Tommie St. John said Touchstone came to Sweet Jordan’s with the Looney’s awhile back and was impressed with its message. “They contacted us last week and said that Jordan was chosen for the award.”
Jordan told the crowd to “have faith, love all your friends, have love for everybody and chase your dreams”, St. John said. “I looked out in the crowd and people were wiping away tears. It was such a sweet moment and so emotional.”
The Business As Mission Conference was attended by a large crowd and one of the speakers was Governor Bill Lee.
