Henry, Tenn.-The Town of Henry plans its 2019 Pioneer Day Celebration this coming Saturday September 21st.
The parade is at 10 a.m., starting at the Henry School parking lot and moving down Pioneer Rd. and then to the Civic Center at 55 Park Ave., where the rest of the day’s events will be held.
Cake walk is at 10:30 am, concessions open at 11 am, Bingo starts at 11:30 am, Air Evac flies in at noon Saturday.
At 12:30pm, the Rescue Squad will cut up a car showing how extractions are done. Concessions and bingo continue into the afternoon. There will be bouncy houses, BBQ, kids games and more.
At 5 pm the Pig Wrestle gates open and registration begins, with the pig wrestle show starting at 6 pm. The night culminates with Fireworks around 9 pm.
All cars and floats are welcome for free in the parade and cakes are being accepted into the cake walk. To donate or volunteer to help call 731-207-0991 or go online to donate.henryfd.com.
The Pig Wrestle is shaping up to be a big event for this year’s Pioneer Day and you can enter a team and win some money. Teams of three can enter for $30, you can pre-register at https://HenryFD.com. The winning team will win 50% of the earnings up to $300. Entry fee to come and watch the Pig Wrestle is $5 and gates open at 5pm with the wrestle getting underway at 6pm. Kids 5 and under will be admitted for free.
