Banana Festival Moves Into High Gear

South Fulton and Fulton–The annual Banana Festival is moving into high gear with more and more activities each day through Saturday night when Exile performs.
The Tyson Foods Community Meal will be served at 5 p.m. Wednesday, the same time that the Banana Pudding Cook-Off will be held. Also on Wednesday is the Chalk Art contest from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and the Faith and Family Night at 6 p.m.
Sidewalk vendors open at 9 a.m. Thursday and will be in place all day. Fulton’s Got Talent will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
On Friday, things really get busy with downtown vendors opening at 9 a.m., a Health Fair from 9-11 a.m., Kids’ Activities from 4-10 p.m., Fulton’s Got Talent at 7, live performances and a street dance the rest of the evening.
On Saturday, the Rotary Club Car Show is from 8-11 a.m., the Banana Festival 5K at 8 a.m., and vendors open downtown at 9.
The Banana Eating Contest is at 10, followed by the Banana Brawl at 11, Kids’ Day activities from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; 2:30 p.m. will be the Doggy Pageant. The grand parade is at 5 p.m., with the one ton banana pudding served.
The winner of Fulton’s Got Talent will perform at 7, followed by Mitchell Lee of The Voice at 7:30 p.m. and Exile at 8:30.
All events are at or near Unity Park.
