Trenton, Tenn. — A juvenile driver who ran from a crash scene Sunday night has been found following an overnight search by Gibson County law enforcement and the Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter.
Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas told WENK/WTPR that the 14-year-old had been driving a truck that flipped over last night. Thomas said, “We don’t know if he was scared or what exactly, but he ran off. We were concerned because he was a juvenile and because we were told he was asthmatic and other medical conditions.”
A second juvenile was in the truck at the time of the accident, but he did not run.
Thomas said the juvenile driver was finally found Monday morning around 10 a.m.
Neither the driver nor the passenger were injured from the accident. However, Thomas said, the passenger was airlifted as a precaution, but he did not require treatment.
