Road, Parks Boards Hold Routine Meetings

Paris, Tenn.- Both the Henry County Highway Department Commission and Paris Parks and Recreation Board met on Monday and held quick sessions with not much business to discuss.
Bush hogging and potholes were discussed again in detail at the Road Board meeting as they’ve continued to battle that all summer. Road Supervisor Richie Chilcutt said crews are continuously working on potholes and bush hogging and will do so as long as the weather cooperates. The board approved wages and expenses and the 30 day work plan which included some repairs to certain roads along with the bush hogging and pothole work.
The Parks Board discussed the Splash Pad and Parks Director Tony Lawrence gave the board the latest updates as the City Commission received last week.
The board was also updated on some various projects including the equipment was ordered for the dog park after winning the $25K grant last month,
The Parks Board learned that 80 kids competed on the Paris Swim team, a big increase the last couple years and 20 are on the HCHS team. LED lighting is ordered for Eiffel Tower Park and an extension of 4 feet will make the Christmas tree at the downtown fountain park bigger this season.
