Union City, Tenn.–On Sat., Sept. 7, over 60 firefighters from the region will climb the Discovery Park of America Tower stairs 10 times as a tribute to the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.
All firefighters who participate will be wearing roughly 70 pounds of gear as they climb the Tower stairs 10 times, which is the equivalent to the 110 flights of stairs of the World Trade Center.
Guests are welcome to encourage the firefighters as they climb to remember those who lost their lives. The climb begins at 9 a.m. This is in collaboration with the Union City Tennessee Fire Department.
