Calloway County, Ky.–A 22-year-old Missouri woman is still missing as rescue crews from Calloway and Marshall Counties continue the search for her in the waters of Kentucky Lake.
Meanwhile, a 49-year-old Calloway County man is in jail, charged with Boating Under the Influence following the incident.
Crews are searching for Samantha Brooke Ratledge of Scott City, Mo.
James T. Nance, age 49 of Calloway Co., was arrested for BUI 1st offense and lodged in the Calloway Co. Jail.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Chief Communications Officer Kevin Kelly has provided more details of the incident as the investigation has proceeded. On Sunday, Sept. 1 at approximately 8 p.m. , Ms. Ratledge was a passenger aboard a pontoon boat that was headed south on Kentucky Lake near mile marker 48 out from Paradise Resort.
According to witness statements, Ms. Ratledge got out of her seat and crossed the safety rail on the front of the vessel while still in motion and fell overboard.
The vessel was stopped, however Ms. Ratledge was unable to be located.
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement responded to the scene as well as the Calloway and Marshall Co. Rescue Squads and are conducting a search of the area.
Squads are launching from the Paradise Resort area.
