Dresden, Tenn.–Two members of the Weakley County Ambulance Service headed for Florida Friday afternoon to help with disaster relief efforts as Hurricane Dorian continues its approach. Hurricane Dorian is expected to make landfall on Florida on Tuesday as a Category 4.
The two –Paramedic Michael Carr, age 53, and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Shane Jones, age 50—are volunteering and are members of an EMS strike team for the state.
Carr and Jones attended a TEMA briefing in Nashville first and then left for Florida. They will be assigned to an area where medical assistance is needed as the hurricane moves through Florida.
Weakley County Emergency officials said, “Prayers as we send our Strike team to help in Florida with Hurricane Dorian.”
