Former Murray Coach Faces New Charges

Murray, Ky.–A former Murray High School teacher and track coach has been arrested on new charges of possessing or viewing matter depicting a sexual performance by a minor. Mark Boggess was arrested again this week, on five new counts.
Boggess was arrested earlier this year after being accused of setting up a video camera in a school bathroom.
Bond was set at $25,000. A status hearing has been set for September 19.
In July, he pleaded not guilty to charges involving voyeurism at the school during his arraignment at Calloway County Circuit Court.
Boggess was originally arrested in April and is charged with three counts of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He is also charged with eight counts of voyeurism. According to the indictment, the alleged offenses occurred between January 1 and April 25.
Murray Police said at the time of the arrest that staff at the school located a device that was able to record video and was set up in a manner to video individuals while they were changing in the bathroom of the nurse’s station. The suspect was able to be identified from the video as he was setting it in place.
