Obion, Tenn.–After a “very busy summer and back-to-school season,” the food pantry at Reelfoot Rural Ministries is “desperately low,” according to Rev. Robert Craig, executive director of the Memphis Conference agency based in Obion.
The Reelfoot Rural Ministry service area includes Lake, Obion and Dyer Counties in northwest Tennessee and Fulton County in southwest Kentucky.
“We have averaged 250 households (800 individuals) served with groceries this summer,” Craig said.
Items needed to restock the food pantry for fall include:
- Canned vegetables (examples: corn, green beans and peas)
- Canned meat (examples: tuna, chicken, and pork)
- Ready-to- eat foods (examples: ravioli, soup, spaghetti sauce, and chili)
- Peanut butter
- Canned fruit
- Ramen noodles
