Buchanan, Tenn.–Join Ranger Gina Lowry of Paris Landing State Park on a day trip to Camp Hazlewood by water at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 25.
Everyone will start at the TVA Access Road (here https://goo.gl/maps/T7HzycDqqutf9NRp9 ), and paddle to Camp Hazlewood. Enjoy the abundant wildlife and beautiful views of Kentucky Lake along the way. We’ll take a break at Hazlewood to have a snack, rest, and take in the scenery and history of the old girl scout camp, then paddle back to Paris Landing.
Some kayak or canoe experience recommended. It is roughly three hours total of paddling at a leisurely pace. Please bring a water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen, and a hat. Extra water and snacks provided by the Park. The Park has life jackets, one-man kayaks, two-man kayaks, and canoes. You may bring your own if you prefer. Dogs are welcome!
