Signage Dedicating Facilities For Counce, Hudson, Miller To Be Placed At HCHS

Paris, Tenn.—At a meeting Wednesday afternoon, the Henry County Schools Facilities and Grounds committee made decisions on placement of signage dedicating the Fieldhouse to the late Coach James M. Counce, the Football Field to the late Coach Bill Hudson and renaming the High School Little Theater as Linda Wilson Miller Theater.
The sign dedicating the Fieldhouse to Coach Counce will be placed along the top of the Fieldhouse on the southeast side of the building. It will be placed above the signs that are already there which proclaim the Patriots’ records.
The sign dedicating the football field to Coach Hudson will be placed directly under the scoreboard.
The plaque for the Linda Wilson Miller Theater will be placed between the two main doors of the Little Theater. That will occur during the Henry County High School 50th anniversary activities, with an open house from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, September 29.
Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins said the dedications of the Fieldhouse and football field are tentatively set for the home game October 4.
In other business, it was reported that a family member of a former board member has said they are willing to donate funds to have a construction plaque placed on the high school. Dr. Watkins said there was no construction plaque placed on the high school when it was built 50 years ago and the plaque would commemorate the team of board members and others who oversaw that project.
