Confirmed Sighting Of Watson Overnight

Henning, Tenn.–The Tennessee Department of Correction has confirmed Curtis Ray Watson was spotted early this morning in Henning. Watson is the inmate who escaped from the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning on Wednesday and is accused of murdering a prison official.
TDOC released photos taken early this morning by a resident’s security camera showing him under their carport.
According to the TDOC’s release this morning, Watson appears to be wearing ‘camp bib overalls and a hat and wearing a backpack.’ The date and time stamp on the photo is 3:28 a.m. August 11.
Curtis Ray Watson, age 44, has ties to both Henry and Carroll Counties. Watson was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of especially aggravated kidnapping in Henry County in 2012. He was also arrested by Paris Police on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated rape. He also was sentenced to 10 years in state prison after an aggravated child abuse in Carroll County.
Last night, WREG in Memphis reported that law enforcement had surrounded Watson and an arrest was imminent.
