Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man led Henry County Sheriff’s deputies on a two hour foot chase Wednesday and both he and the woman he was with were arrested on several charges.
Antonio Rulford, age 21, of Roberson Scott Road, was charged with evading arrest, along with two active warrants that already had been posted against him. Tabitha Constantine, age 26, of Old McKenzie Highway, was charged with assisting Rulford.
Bond for Rulford was set at $10,000.
According to the report, deputies spotted Rulford in the passenger seat of a car driven by Constantine while on routine patrol and attempted to make a traffic stop. Deputy Gary Carroll said he knew Rulford’s history with evading pulled the police cruiser next to the passenger door to try to block Rulford from running.
In the report, Carroll said Constantine pulled her car forward so that Rulford could exit the vehicle. Rulford then ran into woods along East Wood Street.
Officers chased Rulford for some two hours for several miles, finally catching him in the small cemetery on East Wood Street.
