Paris, Tenn.–A large crowd was on hand for Thursday morning’s “Baby Shower” celebration organized by the Henry County Health Department at Ogburn Park in Paris. All moms-to-be, breastfeeding moms, and baby caregivers were invited and the festivities included plenty of giveaways, door prizes, Rollin’ Snow shaved ice, fruit slices and more. Numerous vendors from various organizations including the Extension office, Carl Perkins Center, WIC, and Youth Villages were also on hand. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office also gave away bags filled with fresh tomatoes from the inmate garden. Health Educator Rachel Matlock said the event usually is held at the health department and this is the first year for it to be held outdoors. “We have a lot more people this year, so I think we’ll do this again,” she said.
