Union City, Tenn.–Discovery Park of America officials on Friday will be announcing plans for the new Ag Exhibit that is coming to the park in October of 2020 and the public is invited. It will include a reception with locally-sourced food and beverages and live music.
The press conference is set for 1 p.m. in front of the red tractor barn and the public can attend. The reception begins at 1:30 p.m. Non-members and those not wishing to visit the park that day can check in at a special table in the lobby to attend the press conference at no charge.
The newly restored International Harvester Cotton Picker that arrived at the park on Wednesday will be the backdrop for the press event.
Plans are to renovate the red tractor barn to house an 8,900 square foot ag exhibit next year.
Pictured on the IH picker are Discovery Park employees Jamie Thomson, Hugh Wade, President & CEO Scott Williams, Jade Walsh and John Watkins. Jeff Ursery of 2 BR’s Restoration is pictured having just driven the picker onto its permanent location in front of the barn. David Ursery, not pictured, was also part of the restoration team.
“We are excited that the cotton picker arrived in time for our annual Tractor Show, which is this weekend,” Williams said. “We hope that our members and friends in this rural agricultural community will join us Friday at 1 p.m. for the announcement about our new exhibit, and stay for a reception featuring locally produced food.”
