Greenfield, Tenn.–A Greenfield man is recovering from serious injury when he was injured Monday at a construction site.
Lance Donnell, age 23, accidentally shot himself in the chest with a nail gun while working at the new Greenfield Bank building job site.
Greenfield Police said a nail lodged some one and a half inches into his chest near the left ventricle of the heart. Donnell works for Smith Interiors and was installing board when the nail gun accidentally triggered and fired the nail into his chest.
Greenfield EMS transported him to the local helipad where he was transferred to a medical helicopter and airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
