Dyersburg, Tenn.–Vanedda Prince Webb, attorney serving the West Tennessee area for 25 years and current Alderman at Large for the City of Dyersburg, has announced her intention of running for the District 77 State Representative seat recently vacated by Bill Sanderson.
Webb said she holds a long record of professional legal service to the residents of Dyer, Lake and Obion counties as well as a deep commitment to her community.
Elected Alderman-at-Large for the City of Dyersburg in 2019, Webb serves as Chair of the city’s Safety Committee and as a member of both its Finance and Local Government committees.
Licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 1992, Webb has practiced law in Dyer, Lake and Obion counties since 1994 and established private practice in Dyersburg in 2008.
Webb said she has a long record of strong service to her community, noting her involvement with a number of local professional, civic and charity organizations.
Webb has served on the West Tennessee Legal Services Board of Directors since 2016. She is currently a member of both Kiwanis of Dyersburg and its Board of Directors; a volunteer instructor at the Dyer County Jail Ministry Parenting Class; a member of the Dyersburg Dyer County Arts Council; a member of Mainstreet Dyersburg; and a member of First Baptist Church of Dyersburg since 2003. She served as a founding Board Member of Transitions of Dyer County from 2003-2007, and is a Past President of both the Dyer County Bar and Obion County Bar Associations.
Her husband, Lance Webb, has served as Assistant Attorney General for the 29th District – including Dyer and Lake counties – since 2001.
Webb graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1989 and continued her education with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1992.
Her sons, Samuel and Justin Webb, have both followed their mother’s path to UTM. A graduate of Dyersburg High School and UTM, Samuel Webb is currently a graduate student at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. A graduate of Dyersburg High School and Dyersburg State Community College, Justin Webb is currently a student at UTM. Her youngest son, William Webb, currently attends Dyersburg High School.
“I am eager to serve the people of Dyer, Lake and Obion counties as their representative in the Tennessee General Assembly,” she said. “My husband and I have committed our lives to this District, and have raised our family here. My years of work as a local attorney representing individuals in the courts of Dyer, Lake and Obion counties have given me a deep understanding of the people and communities in our District. I commit to listen carefully to their concerns, and to strongly advocate for all of them in Nashville. I commit to working with State, Federal, and local officials to foster economic growth in our District. And, I commit to apply common sense and fiscal responsibility to all my decisions as State Representative.”
