HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn.—Four people were injured when a boat exploded Saturday morning at Pickwick Lake State Park.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency responded to a call about a boat exploding on Saturday, July 27, \around 11:15 a.m. The incident occurred approximately one-half mile upstream from the boat ramp at Pickwick Landing State Park.
Officers report a single vessel was traveling upstream with seven occupants aboard when the incident occurred.
Four of the occupants were injured, one was carried by helicopter to a nearby trauma center, and the three other injured occupants were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
