McKenzie, Tenn.–Kelly Spivey has been named the new principal at McKenzie High School, replacing Tim Watkins, who was recently hired as Obion County Director of Schools.
A 1989 graduate of McKenzie High School, Spivey began his career in education at Lewis COunty High School, serving as technical coordinator and computer teacher, as well as assistant football and baseball coach.
He served at South Fulton High School for five years as assistant principal and teacher, as well as head football coach.
Spivey then returned to McKenzie, where he was a history teacher and assistant football coach for the past six years.
SPivey,s wife, Mary, is a third grade teacher at McKenzie Elementary and they have two children.
