Quota Club Hears Energy Saving Tips From BPU

Paris, Tenn.–Paris Board of Public Utilities (BPU) Energy Advisor Barry Flood presented the Paris Quota Club members with quick, easy and low cost ways to reduce their energy usage.
Flood was guest speaker at Quota’s Wednesday meeting at the Lee Academy Lunchroom.
He has been with BPU for 30 years and noted that the BPU has been serving Henry County for 80 years.  He reminded everyone to turn off the lights when you leave a room and don’t leave a ceiling fan running in a room you are not in.  He also mentioned having good attic insulation and caulking around windows will help bring your bill down.  He said your heat and air make up 50 -60% of your bill and good insulation around windows and doors will help cut it back.
BPU Communications Specialist Meagan Hart spoke about her duties, which include setting up special events and booths at community events.  She also told the group about the BPU app for the smart phone.
In other business, President Kayla Nation, reported that the annual birthday party for the Henry County Nursing Home residents was July 23rd.  They played Bingo and enjoyed cake and ice cream.
She also reminded everyone that we are scheduled to provide food for Noon on the Square on September 13th and 27th.
