Kenton, Tenn.—State Rep. Bill Sanderson (R-Kenton) has announced he is resigning effective at noon today from the state legislature.
Sanderson represents Dyer, Lake and parts of Obion County.
He owns the White Squirrel Winery in Kenton, which has grown in recent years. Sanderson cited personal and business reasons for resigning, noting the growing business and that his son-in-law has been diagnosed with State 4 cancer.
Sanderson said he plans to resign following today’s Republican caucus during which a new Speaker of the House will be nominated to replaced embattled State Sen. Glen Casada,
