Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man was arrested on drug charges, including possession of meth, by a sharp-eyed Henry Co. Sheriff’s deputy who knew the man was wanted on warrants. In the process of that arrest, a Murray man also was arrested on harassment charges.
Barton Grande, age 45, of Dale Road, was charged with possession of meth with intent to sell, simple possession, and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia.
According to the report, Deputy Cpl. Dalton Watson spotted two men sitting in a Dodge Dakota in a parking lot on Tyson Ave. around 8 p.m. Tuesday. He recognized Grande has having two active warrants for failure to appear.
After Watson placed Grande under arrest on the warrants, he discovered 1.75 gramds of meth inside one of Grande’s pockets. He asked if there was anything else illegal in the car and was told no. In a search of a backpack belonging to Grande, he found marijuana, a digital scale, glass meth pipe, lighter and marijuana pipe.
According to the report, Watson was informed by dispatch that the driver of the car, Edward Odom, age 45 of Murray, was wanted for harassment and he placed him under arrest.
