Paris, Tenn—The Paris Alcoholic Beverage Control Board approved three beer permits –one involving a change in management at Kroger, another for change in ownership at the Family Fun Center and a third for a new downtown nightclub.
Now that long-time Kroger Manager Joe Turner has transferred to the Murray store, Chris Langley is the new manager and with new management, a new beer permit is required.
Langley told the board he has worked at numerous Kroger locations and was Assistant Manager under Turner at the Paris store.
Donald Finch is the new owner at the Family Fun Center at 1118 N. Market Street and told the board he has never managed a business that served alcohol before but knew the rules that govern serving alcohol.
Marcuc Lorenzo McClennan requested a beer permit for The Location at 222 W. Wood St. which he said he wants to have a lounge atmosphere with a “nice, friendly environment”.
Board Member James Smith noted that the background check on McClennan showed a few arrests and asked McClennan how he planned to operate the business. “Everything must be above board. I plan to keep everything above board”.
All three permits were approved.
A beer permit had been requested for The House, a new restaurant 105 S. Brewer, but the designee was not at the meeting and it was not acted upon.
