Buchanan, Tenn.–With weather forecasts showing 92 degrees and sunny with only a 20% chance of rain, the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Water Fun Run on Kentucky Lake looks to host boaters from across the region this Saturday, July 20th.
“This is the biggest event of the year for our Chamber,” according to Chamber Executive Director Travis McLeese. “Not only is it a fun day on the water that showcases our marinas, it is the biggest fundraiser that we produce for our organization. Not to mention, we anticipate over 70% of the participants to be from out of Henry County, which will lead to a substantial economic impact for our county.”
Participants have the potential to receive 12 cards, by visiting the nine participating marinas, finding two party boats and buying the 12thcard for an additional $10. The nine participating marinas are Buchanan Resort, The Breaker’s, Cypress Springs, Leatherwood, Fat Daddy’s Brownfield Riverside Resort, Sunset Bay Marina, Pleasant View and Paris Landing State Park Marina.
Marinas will open at 9 AM, with check ins at 3, 4, and 5 PM at Paris Landing.
There will be a $500 cash prize for the best 5 card poker hand at each check in. $25 to participate. Packets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce or at participating marinas. Prizes will also be given for best decorated boat.
“Packets will be available at 9 AM Saturday morning, but we encourage people to stop by the Chamber and get their packets before Saturday to avoid long lines,” McLeese said.
