"Summer Of Smokey" To Make Stops In Area

The “Summer of Smokey” will be arriving in our area today and tomorrow with stops in Paris, Martin, Dyersburg and Trenton.
The University of Tennessee’s costumed Smokey mascot is touring the whole state of Tennessee through August and at each stop, he poses for photographs, gives away Tennessee posters and keepsakes.
The tour will arrive today (July 15) in Dyersburg at the court square from noon to 1 p.m. and then on to Trenton at the Gibson Co. Courthouse from 4-5 p.m.
On Tuesday, July 16, the tour will arrive in Martin, at The Grind restaurant, from noon to 1 p.m. and then in Paris at the Eiffel Tower Park from 2-3 p.m.
This year, Tennessee Athletics has replaced the Big Orange Caravan with the “Summer of Smokey”.
