Huntingdon, Tenn.–The volunteers of The Shepherd’s Table at the First Presbyterian Church of Huntingdon invite everyone to share a free meal, served restaurant style on the third Tuesday of the month. The next Shepherd’s Table will be held Tuesday, July 16th , in the Fellowship Hall located at 19835 E. Main Street, in Huntingdon.
Dining will begin promptly at 5 pm and the kitchen will remain open until 6:45pm. Make sure and come hungry there is always plenty of good food.
The Community Kitchen was created last year for those who want to fellowship with others, as well as, those that are in need. No matter what your situation is – you are welcomed.
Everyone is greeted at the door by a host and taken to your seat. The tables have beautiful centerpieces and rolled fresh silverware. A server will take your order for drinks and bring your supper and desserts to your table for you. There is also a team of volunteers waiting to do clean up. All you have to do is simply show up and enjoy a meal.
It’s Spaghetti Night in July. Spaghetti noodles will be served with a delicious homemade meat sauce hot from the kitchen. There will also be garlic bread and a side salad. Supper is not complete without dessert. A variety of yummy goodies will be available to choose from.
“We have provided more than 700 meals since last spring and on of our first dinners was spaghetti,” said Suzanne Carter, co-chairperson and founding member of the Shepherd’s Table. “It’s good comfort food and everyone enjoyed it.” She invites anyone and everyone to share a meal on the third Tuesday.
The Shepherd’s Table has been able to feed up to 80 guests with the benefit of donations of both money and food. Each meal costs approximately $100.
