Springville, Tenn.- A total of 189 triathletes from all over the area were up bright and early Saturday morning to compete in the Paris Landing Sprint and Olympic Triathlon at the state park.
Out of 189 triathletes 175 finished the race. Triathletes that competed in the Olympic portion swam 1500 meters, had a 24 mile bike ride and ran 6.2 mile. Triathletes who competed in the sprint portion swam 500 meters, biked 14 miles, and ran 3.1 miles.
The top five in the overall males and females Sprint triathlon and the top five overall males and females in the Olympic triathlon are listed:
Overall Male Sprint Triathlon:
1st place: Dale Sanford from Germantown finished with a time of 1:03:33.26.
2nd place: Cole Davis from Paris finished with a time of 1:06:28.33.
3rd place: Ryan Beaird from Murray, Ky. Finished with a time 1:07:59.08.
4th place: Jon Tate from Nashville finished with a time of 1:09:23.84.
5th place: Ladell Geroge from Germantown finished with a time of 1:09:27.72.
Overall Female Sprint Triathlon:
1st place: Hillary Blackburn from Nashville finished with a time of 1:22:33.11.
2nd place: Megan Clegg from Clarksville finished with a time of 1:22:35.33.
3rd place: Tami Anderson from Dresden finished with a time of 1:23:14.53.
4th place: Heather Nichols from Collierville finished with a time of 1:23:59.65.
5th place: Alli Miller from Dover finished with a time of 1:27:26.90.
Overall Male Olympic Triathlon:
1st place: Jordan Green from Morgantown, Ky. finished with a time of 2:05:37.09.
2nd place: Matthew Bartsch from Evansville, IN finished with a time of 2:14:05.66.
3rd place: Ben Dixon from Eads finished with a time of 2:16:51.82.
4th place: Todd Perkins from Eads finished with a time of 2:17:17.11.
5th place: Jacob Meuth from Saint Peters, MO finished with a time of 2:19:06.41.
Overall Female Olympic Triathlon
1st place: Heather Perkins from Eads finished with a time of 2:41:59.63.
2nd place: Jamie Bailey from Memphis finished with a time of 2:47:55.41.
3rd place: Rebecca Parshall from Atlanta, GA finished with a time of 3:00:28.60.
4th place: Renee Sutton from Camden finished with a time of 3:14:01.25.
5th place: Christine Bertz from Memphis finished with a time of 3:35:41.43.
