Community Invited To Energy-Savings Program

Paris, Tenn.–With temps topping 90for the remainder of the summer, many Henry Countians have one eye on their thermostat and one eye on their utility bill.
That’s why the Historic Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Association is hosting an energy advisor from eScore at their next meeting, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Paris Bethel Building on Lake Street. The community is invited to attend.

“We all could use some sound advice on how to decrease electric bills,” according to Board Member Susan Jones. “So we’re reaching beyond the boundaries of the neighborhood with an open invitation to this 7 pm presentation.”
Tanner Hensley, an  energy advisor from eScore, an energy education initiative brought to the community by the Board of Public Utilities and TVA, will be the speaker. eScore offers an opportunity for individuals to learn what upgrades their home needs to score a 10 – the most energy efficient level.
“I registered my home online and Tanner inspected it within a few weeks,” said Jones. “He was very thorough and reviewed the customized list of upgrades my house needed to save electricity and money.
“Tanner answered all of my questions and even installed some new, LED light bulbs to replace my old, less efficient bulbs. He’ll do a great job answering folks’ questions at this meeting about energy savings.”
eScore energy advisors also offer a list of local, TVA- trained contractors who have been approved for the Quality Contractor Network (QCN). This ensures that if an issue is discovered, such as insufficient insulation or an outdated electric water heater, customers are made aware of contractors who are part of the QCN.  After the work has been completed, eScore swill send an inspector to examine the completed work, free of charge.
