Union City, Tenn.–After a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Obion County General Sessions Court, a local teacher was bound over to the next session of the grand jury on three charges of statutory rape by an authority figure.
Beth McManus, age 48, was arrested June 5 on charges that allegedly stem from encounters in April, May and June of 2012 involving a 16-year-old former student.
The next grand jury meets October 1.
