New Concord, Ky.—The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office was finally able to arrest a fugitive from Henry County who had eluded authorities in her home county in Tennessee and three counties in Kentucky.
Lacey Day, age 21, of Buchanan, is being held without bond in the Calloway County Jail, charged with multiple counts of fleeing and evading police, trafficking in meth and heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a fugitive from another state.
Calloway County Sheriff Sam Steger believes that because Day has been wanted in so many jurisdictions in two different states on multiple charges, her case may end up in the federal system.
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew agreed and said, “We hope so. We hope it progresses in that direction. She is a menace to society. She really is. We’ve chased her in everything but a boat. We’ve chased her when she’s in a car, when she’s on a motorcycle and when she’s on foot.”
Belew said Day “has no care for the safety of the general public” and that she faces multiple charges in Henry County, too.
On July 3, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office received information that fugitive Lacey Day was at Cypress Springs Resort in New Concord.
Steger told WENK/WTPR that deputies converged on the location and an undercover deputy was able to take Day into custody without incident.
Day was on the run from Henry County, Tennessee, and three counties in Kentucky—Henderson, Ohio, and Calloway County. Law enforcement officers from both states had been involved in multiple pursuits with Day, Steger noted.
Also located in the motel with Day were Teara Dunn, age 24, of Almo; and Cristina Ethier, age 40 of Murray. Dunn was charged with hindering apprehension after she was identified as a passenger in the car with Day in a pursuit and having knowledge that she was a fugitive.
Steger said Methamphetamine, marijuana and heroin were found in the room and vehicle that the three occupied.
Dunn was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and hindering apprehension of a fugitive.
Ethier was charged with possession of methamphetamine and all three were lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
