Active Shooter Drill At Discovery Park: Training For An Event No One Wants To Encounter

Union City, Tenn.–First responders from Obion County and employees of Discovery Park of America participated in an active shooter drill Monday at Discovery Park. Union City Police Chief Perry Barfield said, “We accompanied the Obion County Sheriff’s Department, Union City Fire Department, Baptist Memorial Hospital, Air Evac, Obion County Emergency Management, and Discovery Park employees. The drill was to train for an event we hope to never encounter. The reality of a possible active shooter can happen anywhere and at any time.
