Martin, Tenn.–Martin Police have arrested a man sought since early May for a theft at a local saloon.
Brandon Henry, age 39, had been wanted on charges of felony theft, escape, vandalism and burglary involving an incident at the Slide-n-Ride Saloon at 627 N. Lindell Street. Police responded to a call at the saloon at 7:42 p.m. Saturday, May 4.
Assistant Martin Police Chief Phillip Fuqua said he and Ptl. Jimmy Brown made contact with Henry around 2:15 p.m. Monday on Hwy 190 between the communities of McConnell and Ruthville after receiving information from a caller that he was in that area on foot.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Weakley County Jail. He will have an arraignment Thursday, June 27th in Weakley County General Sessions Court.
In the May 4 incident at the saloon, several items were discovered missing, including bottles of liquor, a safe containing cash, several electronic items and an undetermined number of alcoholic beverages from the coolers. Several items were missing from the deejay booth as well. Other items were damaged inside of the business during the incident.
During an investigation of the incident, Brandon Henry was identified as the person responsible for the theft through video footage. Henry was located and admitted to being responsible for the incident and was taken into custody. While he was retrieving items for investigators, he ran away from officers.
