Erin, Tenn.—The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for any information relating to the death of a man found in the middle of a roadway Tuesday night.
Jimmy Hooper, age 49, died while ambulance personnel were preparing to have him airlifted to a hospital. He was found in the roadway on State route 149 around 9 p.m.
Deputies said Hooper was conscious when they found him and he told them he had been struck by a vehicle.
Investigation showed that Hooper had been dropped off in that area Tuesday morning so he could fish at a nearby creek. His fishing equipment was still at the creek.
Investigators are at the scene again this morning trying to determine what happened, but there is speculation that he may have been hit by a vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 931 289 2911.
