Wes Johnson Hired As New Dresden Football Coach

Dresden, Tenn.—Dresden High School’s new Head Coach Wes Johnson may be new to Dresden, but not to West Tennessee.
A native of Selmer, Johnson played football at McNairy Central and was graduated from UT Martin with a bachelor’s degree in education.
After UT Martin, he spent three seasons from 2016 to 2018 as a graduate assistant at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, working under Coach Chad Morris. Johnson earned his master’s degree at SMU.
After SMU, Johnson worked as a defensive assistant coach at the University of Arkansas under Coach John Chavis.
Johnson and his wife, Hannah are expected their first child in July.
Johnson said, “I am extremely excited about the opportunity here at Dresden. There are a lot of talented young men on this team and there is a lot of passion in the community.”
