Buchanan, Tenn.–A Buchanan residence sustained major damage in a fire Monday afternoon. No one was living in the home and no one was injured.
At 4 pm Monday, the Paris Landing Fire Department was dispatched to 495 Hickory Drive in Buchanan for a report of a house on fire.
Fire Chief Reggie Coles said arriving units found the two-story home with smoke coming from the structure. The house sustained major fire damage to the upstairs and attic area, with smoke and water damage throughout.
Coles said the exact cause is still under investigation but appears to be accidental. Damage is estimated at $50,000. Five trucks and 14 firefighters were on the scene for two hours.
