Paris, Tenn.-USDA officials presented the city of Paris with the Director’s Award Wednesday morning in recognition of the city’s Preserve Paris program. The presentation was made at City Hall by USDA Area Director Joel Howard.
Howard noted that since its beginning in February of 2016, Preserve Paris already has conducted seven neighborhood revitalization events. Howard said, “Of all the neighborhood revitalization programs, Preserve Paris has been the most successful one we’ve seen to get community involvement to continue to sustain itself.”
USDA Program Director Don Harris was also on hand and said, “The City of Paris through this program has begun to tackle infrastructure needs in small communities and this program is a great model of success for others in the state.”
