Paris, Tenn.–Cole Davis has earned Henry County’s first-ever National Interscholastic Swimming Coach Association Academic All-American Award.
Davis was graduated in May from Henry County High School and will continue his student/athlete career as a cross county and track runner for the UT Martin Skyhawks. He is the first ever winner of this award for the HCHS Swim Team .
He is the son of Clint and Leighann Davis of Paris.
To qualify for this award, you must: have a minimum GPA of 3.70, Be a graduation senior and letter winner in swimming, diving or water polo.
There are a thousand swimmers recognized for this award in the United States this year and only 24 from Tennessee.
Cole been involved since the HCHS swim team was formed in 2017. He was the co-captain of this year’s team. He holds the HCHS record in the 100 Backstroke. His speed in the water helped the team finish as the division runner up this past season.
His coaches said, “Not only does the award reflect Cole’s determination but also Henry County High School emphasis on each student’s education.” Cole began swimming for the Paris Youth Swim Team and also competed with the Paris Tri Club. Cole is also the current Tennessee High School Triathlon Champion. He also competed in Cross Country and Track for three years, and one year of Baseball.
