Union City, Tenn.—A woman from Gleason was struck and killed Saturday night in Union City.
Killed in the accident was Amber Daniell Sayles, age 31. According to Union City Police Chief Perry Barfield, she was walking across Miles Avenue at the intersection with Church Street around 8:45 p.m. when the accident occurred.
A vehicle operated by Sandy Lee Jackson, age 66, of Union City, was driving northbound on Miles when the accident occurred. Barfield said no charges will be filed against him, noting, “It just appears to be a terrible accident.”
The victim was transported from the scene by EMS to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, where she later died of her injuries.
