Juvenile Shooting Victim Airlifted To The Med; 19-Year-Old Arrested

Dyersburg, Tenn.—A 19-year-old Dyersburg man has been arrested for shooting a 16-year-old during a dispute Friday.
Dyersburg Police Officers responded to the 2100 block of Forrest Street on a report of a shooting. Officers located the juvenile victim who had been shot in the arm.
According to the press release, preliminary investigation revealed a large crowd of people had gathered in the area and a dispute ensued among the parties. A weapon was produced and multiple shots were fired.
The 16-year-old was airlifted to Regional One Hospital in Memphis, and is in stable condition.
Officers were able to obtain the description of the shooter and saturated the area. K-9 Drago was deployed as well to assist in the search. According to the release, due to the quick response of officers, the suspect was located a few blocks away from the crime scene.
The shooting suspect was identified as Travion U. Thomas, age 19 of Dyersburg, Thomas was taken into custody without incident. Thomas was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and is being held at the Dyer County Law Enforcement Complex.
