Huntingdon, Tenn.–A Huntingdon Middle School student will have the opportunity of a lifetime this week as he competes in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
Keller Smith won his fourth consecutive school spelling bee in December and after regional competition, qualified for the national bee.
He is the son of Scott and Shawna Smith.
Preliminary rounds in the national bee begin today. On Wednesday afternoon, the announcement of the finalists is made and the finals are held all day Thursday. Preliminary rounds are televised on ESPN 2 and 3. The national round held Thursday evening is televised on ESPN.
