Early Morning Burglaries At Union City Businesses Investigated

Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police are investigating two early morning burglaries at businesses in which the suspects stole money and jewelry.
At the Subway restaurant in Variety Square on Reelfoot Ave., the suspects threw a rock through the front glass door and took money from the cash drawer. They then went to Steve’s Jewelry next door and pried open the rear door and took jewelry.
According to the report, the incidents happened around 2:30 a.m.
Officers were called to a report of the alarm at the jewelry store next door being set off and while there found the front door at Subway’s broken out. Investigating further, video shows two black males entering the restaurant and prying open the cash drawer and taking cash.
They then pried the door open at Steve’s Jewelry, stealing approximately $300 worth of jewelry. From Subway, some $79 cash was stolen.
According to the police report, Huck’s convenience store across the street also has surveillance footage of the incident.
